The next thing she knew, two police officers came to her. Turns out, she was reported as an identity theft suspect.
They escorted her to an interrogation room and demanded for her documents for identity proofing. They started asking personal questions about her and her family. Finally, when there’s nothing left to prove, they decided to let her go.
“We’re sorry for the trouble, ma’am. It’s just that you look way too young for the age stated in your passport, we thought you stole someone else’s ID. But it’s all good now, have a safe flight.” – Police officer
However, the interrogation took so long that by the time Stella was free to go, she had already missed her flight, and the next available flight was late in the evening.
“It was unbelievable, I missed my flight, I missed my granddaughter’s wedding. This is one of the worst that’s happened to me.” – Stella
